Okay! WOW! First, how lucky are we that the big storm didn't hit Saturday during our sale!?! Can you imagine? That would have been some fast hustlin' to get everything set up in the garden onto the patio and in the house!
A BIG Thank YOU to all that were able to make it either Friday or Saturday. If you weren't able to, we sure missed ya!
It's hard to coordinate dates for sales, without conflicting with holidays, celebrations, vacations, etc. So if you weren't able to make it, stay tuned, becuase I am likely to post some items for sale here on the blog, as well as I encourage you to visit my Etsy shop.
We hope all can make it to the fall sale cuz' YAHOOOO! That is gonna be the best one yet! *Promise*
I should really be thanking my hubby first. I am very lucky that he supports my desire to have sales in the first place, not to mention all the hard work he puts into it himself. We've been painting furniture, signs, building things, pricing, creating ideas for displays and trying not to forget all the little details for weeks. (And very little sleep a few days before!) D pulled an all nighter Thursday night then went and worked his eight hour shift, then came home and helped me clean up after the first day. What a guy I have! I love you!
So, without any further delay; here are a few photos for you to enjoy.
Customers came down the side of the house, that is the one place that is totally neglected....I was a bit embarrassed by the lack of 'garden' quality compared to everywhere else. Miles was a bit miffed that Mom wouldnt' let him spread fresh hay all over the pathway....good idea, but I was already worried about setting off people's allergies!
Despite the dried boring grass and the random rogue dandelion; people followed the Geese that you can see tucked in hay bales, which were zig-zagged to bring them to the back garden. About the only thing missing in the photo are the massive swivel bar stools I painted barn red....I think they were the first things to go!
It was a flurry of activity and in the excitement of it all, some customers started to pick up and buy my displays! ha! This usually happens and this time, we just went for it instead of saying 'Oh sorry, that's not for sale'.
One thing we weren't skimping on this year was vintage aprons and quilts; with the exception of a few, we still have quite a number available; which was surprising because these are Beautiful!
The morning light was very pretty Friday morning. This was just before opening.
Sandy G had the most adorable little containers planted with blue star creeper and filled with beach rocks and shells. I think nearly all of her potted succulents sold and so did mine. Lavender, Leeks, Poppy Heads and Fresh Garlic compliments of Fletcher's Glory Farms and Sage Patch were tucked all around.
It was hard to get enough snaps of all the areas BEFORE we opened, since we worked right up til 10am. So some photos look a little sparse, but I'm sure you can get the general idea of how cute things looked :)
Dont'cha just love this hutch with the nummy soft aqua paint? Well, sorry but it's not for sale! ha! Not yet anyway!
Okay, last one for now....and of COURSE it has to be one of D's Cowboy Headboard that he was still working on in the wee hours of the morn' before we opened. (Bless hims lil' heart!).....please, SOMEONE leave a comment about how cool his headboard is, because he's called me twice today from work to ask 'has any commented on the blog about my head board'? AND of course I have to also give a very sincere thank you and BIG HUG to Sandy J (my sidekick and partner in vintage crime), Sandy G who I just love to bits and is the most generous and sweet person I've ever met and also to Rosie aka 'Rosalicious', Sandy's Sweet Granddaughter that was a huge help on our first day (Thank you Rosalicious!) and of course I cannot forget to thank my dear big sis', Bambi for all of her encouragement, feedback and help she gives me.
Once again it was great to see all of you. Especially my Stayton/Silverton gals that I haven't seen since last fall in Jefferson! (*HUGS*)
More photos to come....but for now, I'm still sorting, packing, snapping photos for Etsy and will hoepfully be able to put my house back together soon!
I hope you enjoyed your visit!
Love to all!
